Chosen Solution
When my Samsung Galaxy S5 is plugged in and the battery reaches 100% charge the screen turns on and stays on. If I charge it over night it means the screen is on for several hours. I’ve found that after this happens the phone seems to overheat and I have trouble using it. To get around this problem now I turn the phone off when charging. It would be nice to charge with the phone turned in.
Go to Settings, Developers option and unselect Stay Awake.
