I have an iPhone XS Max, I updated it to iOs 14, then one morning when I woke up, the screen just stopped responding. I thought it was the OS to I reverted, nothing. I waiting for a beta 14.1 and nothing. There were no dead pixels, or signs that it might stopped working. It just stopped. I had to restart to use it for a couple mins then it stopped responding again. Took it to apple and they said it was the screen and that it was going to be about $400 cause it was the screen. I found a great repair shop and replaced the screen for less than half of that… was working fine, then it started doing it again. same thing. It’s not the screen. I thought it was the sim that was messing with it, but I went to T-Mobile and got a new sim, and same. Now i have no ideas what it could be. Any ideas or clues as to what I should be looking into?
You may have a defective replacement screen or a loose connector, which does happen from time to time even in my repair shop. Contact the repair shop you went to and ask them to look it over and they’ll most likely have some kind of warranty to cover the defective parts. If it still has issues then it may have a board level problem and requires someone who specializes in micro soldering. For that you can check out iPad Rehab, STS Telecom, and Rossman Repair. They’re all skilled and knowledgeable techs with youtube channels you can check out!
