After droping my phone, the screen cracked and went completely white but the screen was still recognizing my touch and i could hear the clicking on the keyboard, after replacing the broken screen with a new digitizer, glass, and lcd my iphone does not recognize my touch and the screen is completely black, in this whole process i payed close attention to cables 1,2,3 to prevent any sort of damage. i also put the old lcd with the new glass and it recognized my touch but the white screen was the biggest issue to solve, so did i get a defective lcd and digitizer? which i find unlikely or did i fry some other component inside?
Cable #2 which manages the LCD often detaches during reassembly (I have done this a hundred times and it still occasionally pops off on me) and could be the culprit if you know the phone is turning on. I would try turning the phone on while it is disassembled and holding down cable #2 with a finger.
i have the same issue, my screen never died, the phone was ran over, it did not get smashed, the screen had a protector so no real damage. The only thing that didn’t work with the phone was the “home” button. I decided to open it up to see how much of a chore it would be to fix the home button. Now i get nothing on the screen. No touch response or anything, the phone is detectable by itunes, i can receive calls/texts, but i can’t pick it up or see the screen. I’ve check several times the connection while putting it back together, I’ve checked the ribon cables if there is any damage, and I see none. What is left that could be a problem?
Look at the back side of the carriage for a bent connector. There are two together near top of the phone. Both should be going the same way to contact the inside of the phone. Carefull bend them to match each other..or nearly straight.
