When i turn the game gear on, the screen lights up but only shows blue. I can hear the game audio playing in the background, too. Is this a replacement screen issue, capacitor or something else? Thanks!

First off, have the old capacitors been replaced on this machine yet? If not, then that’s a good starting point and replace all of them as all of those caps will go eventually. Besides that this is an interesting one since you can hear the games playing but have a blue screen. This may be an issue with the contrast wheel. I’m sure you’ve tried adjusting the wheel several times. Have you tried adjusting the wheel and looking at the system at an extreme angle at say about 135° or so? If you can see any kind of a picture at this angle, than I’m fairly positive it’s a cap replacement issue. If not, then I would next check the contrast wheel and the solder points. See if the points have lifted, poor soldering or too much solder (cold joint) and even take a can of air to underneath the wheel and electrical. That’s the best I can suggest for now. Hope this helps.

I have it worse. No matter how bright I adjust it, and I put new batteries in. It’s still the same. No Audio no picture. I think I have a broken one :(

I’m sad mad. I can’t play my ten and stimpy game. It’s just showing a blue screen but it still plays the sound :(

This is happening to me too. Please help!

I JUST FIGURED OUT WHATS WRONG! There is a brightness wheel on it. Turn the brightness down lol It just worked for me I feel stupid

You can try a recap to see if it will fix it. New caps run 3 to 5 bucks on ebay. Takes me 30 mins to do a full recap, sometimes it works sometimes its another issue like a dead lcd screen.

My problem on my game gear it shows the game halfway n i have black spaces horizontal lines. What can it be n where do i get replacements
