Chosen Solution
My friend and I replaced the cracked screen on my phone yesterday (he has successfully replaced cracked screens on many other phones, but not on Moto G5s). But now right after answering a call or after dialing a call, the screen goes dark. After call has ended, it is possible to turn the screen back on…, any suggestions how we can take care of this new problem? Does it mean we mangled the display cable?
It could be the proximity sensor. This is in the Earpiece of the screen. It is a sensor that detects if your ear is close during a call. Your friend may have not connected it properly or it may have been dislodged. This would definitely be the first thing to check,since the screen was just replaced.
