Hello, The display on my MacBook Pro Late 2016 w/ Touch Bar goes blank after opening the laptop over 1/3 of the way. Any ideas? It almost seems like its a ribbon cable issue on the display side because the screen develops some white spots at the bottom just before it turns off.
Yes, your MacBook Pro has a ribbon cable issue between the display & the logic board. Apple has been repairing many of these under warranty. If they won’t cover it you’ll need to get a replacement display assembly (lid) as the ribbon cable is not really replaceable. So get your paperwork in hand and visit an Apple Store ASAP as time is ticking!
