Screen Goes Black As I Tilt It Closed A Few Degrees Macbook Pro 15 Touch Bar 2017

So Mac Book Pro screen will go black after I start to shut the screen. So as its tilted forward a few degrees the screen goes black. So its as if instead of waiting for the screen to shut all the way to turn black or go to sleep it does it as soon as its tilted forward like 10degrees. It will wake back up if I open it back up a little bit or press a button to wake it up. Is this a setting on the mac book or is this a cable issue in the mac book?
