Having some issues with an old 512k that I have. The machine turns and makes the beep noise but the screen only flickers on when I give the side of it a good smack. Looking for some help on how to fix this!
When you hit the LEFT side? (As you’re facing the front of the machine, you strike the left side?) That’s where the power supply is. Does the machine boot? If you put a floppy disk in there when you start it up, does it boot (or else try to boot, then eject the floppy)? If so then you’re probably looking at either a bad screen, a bad power connection to the screen, or a bad power supply.
