I am learning from my mistakes here! I acquired a water-damaged S8 and want to get it back to normal operation. The device wasn’t working at all for a couple of weeks and then started to turn on but would power down a few minutes later after reporting a moisture problem. I took it apart and removed the circuit boards, cleaned them up with alcohol and one of those inter-dental brush. Put it back together, hit the power button and got the crazy screen that is shown in the youtube video below. It doesn’t respond to doing a hard reset via holding the volume down/power buttons, or the vol up/bixby/power buttons. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to proceed? https://youtu.be/0nEoeooLRKE
You will never get this phone to operate normally or reliably. Repair shops don’t take water damaged devices except to retrieve data only for this exact reason.
