So, yesterday I was messing with my iPhone when, out of nowhere, the screen started flickering. After 2 seconds of that, the screen went dark. I turned it on, but instead of showing anything, only a dim and barely visible light background was visible. I still don’t know what happened, but I hope it didn’t “die”, as I want to have that data, as I don’t think I have any backups. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you have a bad screen or have a problem with the back light circuit. You can hook it up to iTunes and back it up. It sounds like the phone is working just not the display. I would first try a hard reset and if that doesn’t work I would try replacing the screen, make sure you unhook the battery before you change the screen. If that doesn’t work you will need to take it to a shop for micrsoldering repair. I would recommend jessa at ipad rehab ipadrehab.com or Jason at sts telecom ststelecom.com check with them and they can give you a price. They can do the repair without losing your data. So make sure that you check that they are capable of doing the repair. If they aren’t capable they can damage it to the point that it can’t be repaired, so check their references and reviews.
