I have an iphone 6 on which I replaced the screen and the battery - remarkable that this was all it needed considering it went through the washing machine. Everything works fine unless I connect the home button. When it’s plugged in to the MB, the phone will not turn on. If it’s not plugged in, the phone works fine. Since the phone works when it’s unplugged at the MB or at the home button connector itself, that seems to indicate an issue with the home button — I assume it needs to be replaced, but before I do so, and lose the Touch ID, is there anything else I could check out with the home button? The ribbons, as far as I can tell, all look intact, and the connector looks clean. Can the button be disassembled further and cleaned out? Otherwise, the repair went flawlessly. Thanks!
I don’t know if you’ve fixed this already ? But I’ve just had the same problem I managed to fix it by connecting all the top flexes, but disconnecting the Touch ID at the bottom on the back of the screen, this enabled the phone to boot up, when it was on to the lock screen I pushed the connector back in and the screen and button still worked xx :) hope this helps
It happened to me when I used a cheapass refurbished screen
