My Macbook does not fully closed so I had to tighten the screws on the lcd hinge. I got that done but after reassembling the macbook there is no display, keyboard backlit or apple logo. I already tried the flashlight trick and nothing shows up in the screen.

I am thinking of replacing the lcd cable. Could that work? I need this fixed real quick as its not mine. Also the edge is dented so it still does not fully close.

You may have a couple of issues here. The bottom cover may have shorted things out. For now let’s leave it off. Reforming it may be needed or just replacing it. You’ll need to find someone to help you here as this is not an easy problem to work through. Clearly the displays cable is damaged but its likely shorted out the backlight circuit as well. Replacing the display cable won’t fix the damage within the logic board. You might need a new display assembly if it is warped as well.
