I dropped my Samsung S5 and even though there was no visible damage to the phone, the screen won’t come on at all. I still get alarms, the phone rings for incoming calls (I just can’t answer them) and the Bluetooth in my car works just fine. Thanks a bunch all you experts out there in Internet land! Richard

Follow the iFixit guide to open the LCD up. BE VERY CAREFUL! IF your LCD was working, this is a great way to permanently destroy it. In the instructions, he used a heat gun if I recall, but you can use a hair dryer on high heat, low fan speed. DO NOT HOLD THE DRYER IN THE SAME PLACE FOR TOO LONG! One of 3 things may have happened.

  1. LCD is damaged, you just can’t see the damage. LCD will have to be replaced.
  2. LCD Cable got knocked loose, this is easily repaired
  3. Logic board connector for LCD is broken, this is more difficult to repair.
