I have a 2014 lg tv model number 55L Y340H-UA and the screen went all black. You can still hear sound but no picture is there an easy fix to this or is something wrong with the electronics?
@thelife depends on what you consider an easy fix. First you want to check if it is the backlight. With the TV on and sound playing shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen. Check to see if you can make out shapes and silhouettes. If not then take it apart. Measure the voltages on the power board connector to the main board. Look for the BL on voltage. The Possibility here is a backlight array (LG has issues with this) bad main board bad t-con board or bad power board. So we will have to narrow it down. Remove the back take a look at all the board check for obvious damaged components. Post some good images of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question Of course make sure that you check all input sources (HDMI 1,HDMI 2 etc.) and check different sources like DVD, BR, Game console etc.
