Hi, so I got this macbook in February, and I’ve come back to it today and tried to turn it on and it starts up with the screen, keyboard etc all lighting up. It flashes the Apple logo for a split second and then nothing, the screen stays on but is black. A tiny hairline crack has appeared at the top of the screen no bigger than half a cm. Don’t know how this has happened macbook was in the same place I left it less than a hour before. I can also log into my account, which I can tell because the Touch Bar changes when you log in and I can find my way on to different programs like Chrome by random chance.
Ouch! You need a new display assembly! Time to find your way back to the Apple Store or authorized dealer/service center to get your system fixed. I hope you are sitting down … This likely won’t be covered under warranty, so expect to pay for the labor and the replacement display, a new display goes for over $1000 USD!
