Hi my TV screen changed to black and no backlight after some hours running. When I switch it on, red led flashes 5x. When I stream music to an device connected to HDMI I can hear the sound and control volume on the TV. I cannot see anything even using the flash light test. I removed back plate and checked for obvious faulty components. Nothing found. T-con has 1 Blue led on. I measured fuse on the T-con has continuity and 12V. when I disconnect only mainboard, backlight comes upwhen I disconnect only T-Con, backlight comes up, toowhen I disconnect only LVDS cable mainboard to t-con, backlight comes upT-con has two pairs (4) of LVDS cables to Panel. When I disconnect 1, 2, 3 (from right to left), nothing happens. When I disconnect all 4 OR only the left pair, backlight comes up and 3 Blue Leds on t-con are on. Can someody identify which board I need to exchange (hoping it is not a defect panel)? Thanks Sebastian

@oppee did Samsung send somebody out to check it for you. This “When I disconnect 2 of the 4 ribbon cables to the Panel, I get a working and bright picture on half of the screen, the other half shows vertical white lines” sounds more like a T-con board or main board error than a panel error. Not saying it isn’t but I consider it unlikely and would most certainly replace the main board first. “ I’d replace the t-con first. Update (08/11/2018) I am not saying it is or it is not the panel, but this is such an odd error for a panel failure. This truly sounds like a T-con board error. The reason while It works on one side but not the other could be the error on the board. I’d buy a t-con board from a place that I could return it to just in case it is the panel (that is an odd error)

Sounds to me: Bad T-Con Board or bad Cap on LCD Ribbon PCB. Check Cap´s for shortcircuit. (little late, but help for other people ;) ) Best regards, TimoS
