Hey all, I have a Samsung television that I, to be honest, picked up from the electronics bin at my job. The TV seems to be fine overall, except for how it does turn on for a couple of seconds, and the screen goes black along with a blinking red stand-by light. I’m not entirely sure how many times it actually blinks to indicate the issue, as I’m not sure when to start counting the amount of times it does, before the screen blacks out or after. If before, then it blinks 5 times total and stops. If after, it only blinks three times. I’ve inspected the capacitors for any bulging, but as far as I can tell it seems to be fine. However, I have not had the chance to check voltages. Any ideas?
@dewstr Samsung does not officially support any blink codes. So no reason to bother with those. Disconnect the wire from the power board to the main board and see if that turns your backlight on when you power your TV up. From what you are describing right now it sounds like a bad power board but we won’t know until you check the voltages on the power supply.
