My son’s tablet is being very finicky while charging. The cable just has to be in just right for it to acknowledge that its plugged in at all. So I am pretty sure I’m needing to change the charge port. Its other issue is that when it does show that its charging it will get up to 75%+ and then as soon as you unplug the cable it drops down to under 5%. I’m assuming battery issue. I’m wondering if I need to be looking at replacing other components as well or if those two should do the trick? Thank you

Hi, Sounds like changing the charge port and the battery would be the things to do. Here’s a teardown video that may help. At 4:10 minutes into the video the charge port board can be seen being removed and later the battery. The supplier links are examples only to show the part and how much it may cost. Search online for Samsung Galaxy SM-T500 charge port and SCUD-WT-N19 to find suppliers for the charge port and the battery respectively, that suit you best.
