Chosen Solution

Greetings, I have a Samsung SSD EVO 250gb that I am putting into a Macbook Pro 13in Model A1278 Mid 2012. My computer currently operates using a 1TB Seagate Backup Drive connected via USB running OS X Lion 10.7.5. A have been able to put an Operating System on the SSD ( OS X Lion 10.7.5 ) via Internet Recovery (Command+R) and USB drive. I am able to boot my computer when the SSD is plugged in via USB and my computer can be used as normal. My problem is this: I cannot get the Samsung SSD to read once connected to the SATA drive. Once plugged in and booted, I see the Folder with a question mark in it. I have already selected the SSD to be the startup drive in Disk Utility. Please help!

Your HD cable needs to be replaced. Your SSD is able to move data faster than your HD ever was so you are hitting the limits of the cable in addition this series has a known issue with the cable breaking down as well. With the SSD installed visit an Apple Store or Apple authorized service center. Apple is quietly replacing the cable for free! If you are unable to get to either here is the IFIXIT guide you’ll need to follow: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Hard Drive Cable Replacement and here is the needed cable: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable
