Refrigerator not cooling …fridge or freezer… Everything turns on. The fan and compressor seem to turn on. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi @cmejia01 , If the compressor is running and the evaporator fan inside the freezer compartment is also operating but the compartment is not getting cold or even cool then there is a problem with the sealed system. The evap fan will run as long as the compressor is running but it will stop when a door is opened (either door) and start again when the door is shut. You may be able to hear it stop and start when you open and close a door. Do not confuse this fan with the condenser fan which is outside the compartments near the compressor unit. This fan can operate whether the doors are open or shut and is used to cool the condenser and not to distribute the cold air throughout the two compartments The sealed system comprises the compressor, the condenser, the evaporator units (your model has 2 units - one in the freezer and one in the refrigerator), the refrigerant valve (this directs refrigerant to either the refrigerator evap unit, the freezer evap unit or both) the filter dryer and the associated piping. No cooling could mean a lack of refrigerant due to a leak in the sealed system, a blockage in the sealed system or a faulty compressor. To check for a possible leak, look for oily residues on the condenser coils (near the compressor) or on or under the compressor. There is a special oil mixed in with the refrigerant to lubricate the compressor. If there is a leak then the refrigerant will escape to the air undetected but the oil may leave a trace. Also check if the compressor is too hot to touch. It can be very warm as it may have been running for a long time but if it is too hot to touch then this could also mean a lack of refrigerant or perhaps a problem with the compressor. If nothing is obvious then depending on your location you may need a licensed refrigerator repairer to test the high/low pressures in the sealed system to find out what and where the problem is. This is because of the environmental regulations regarding the handling of refrigerant gases. Also they have the correct equipment to access and test the sealed system. How old is the refrigerator? According to the warranty provisions on p.38 in the user manual there is a: One (1) year Parts and Labor on Refrigerator Five (5} years Parts and Labor on sealed system only* Ten(10) years Parts and Five (5} years Labor on DigitaI Inverter Compressor , Just something to consider if the problem is in the sealed system and more so if it is the compressor. Here’s a link to a parts supplier just to give you an idea of the cost of the various parts. Use the part #/part name search box to find the location of the compressor, evaporator, refrigerant valve, condenser and their cost
