I own a Samsung 2013 F8500 Plasma 60” tv and it no longer powers up. No red blinking indicator light, nothing. It was showing signs of this over the past week when it shut off, but after I unplugged it and plugged in again, it worked. Few days later it went off at night but the next morning it came back on by itself and remained on all day before deciding it was finished and then died. Now, it’s truly dead. I’ve tried a few things like unplugging/plugging in, taking batteries out of remote/unplug and press power button for 30 seconds, etc. I even have a second power cord for it and tried that. Nothing. Knowing parts are very rare now I did find recommended capacitors online which will arrive in a couple days, and I searched for a power board replacement and luckily there was only one on eBay for my model. It came from a working set and this was a new listing. Since I’ve heard the power board seems to be the problem 80% of the time, and this was probably rare to find available, I pulled the trigger and now that’s expected to arrive in a few days. I guess my next step will be replacing the power board with the one I bought and hopefully that will do the trick. From what I read it’s just a matter of many screws and a couple cables to unplug and then replug in. I’m a novice but I think even I can do that (with power disconnected). If that doesn’t fix it then I may need to get it to a pro because sodering capacitors, etc. is not my specialty. Before buying the power board I suppose I could have checked the fuse first by itself but I like to play it safe and I felt I was lucky to see that board on eBay after searching high and low online for it and coming up empty. I’m trying to hold onto this amazing tv as long as I can before throwing in the towel and buying a new one. Anyway, I’m certainly open to any tips or advice from you experts out there who have the time. Thanks.
