How to remove rust stain (from iron nails) from bathroom tile?
waihong yeung for ceramic tiles use a 50:50 mix of Borax and lemon juice and apply to the stained area. Leave it there for a couple of hours. After that ,use a pumice stone to remove the stain.
A mild solution of hydrochloric acid will also do it. Here’s one over the counter product: Bull Frog Rust Remover there are others, or you can get muriatic acid and dilute it down 1 to 10 of water (water in the container first) Do make sure you have acid proof gloves and face/eye protection as well as work in good ventilated areas either mixing or using.
There are many ways to do this. I’m not quite sure what the scenario is, perhaps taking some photos would help. I can provide several solutions to remove rust from the nails. First I’d try steel wool. Scotch bright pads can be equally or more effective. If it needs a deeper clean, a wire wheel on a Dremel or drill will certainly get it off. If you’re in a situation where that is to obtuse, perhaps soaking the nails in citric acid would cut it. There are other solutions I can provide if these won’t work. Hope this helps!
