Hello, opened up my PS4 and found brown/orange/black crust and some sticky black gunk in the inside. Thought that the plastic casing somehow melted but when I started rubbing at it with a wet wipe and tissues, it started coming off with a horrible smell. opened it up more and saw that it had gotten onto the metal plate above the optical drive. Unscrewed it and flipped it over the find the entire underside of the metal plate was covered in the crust. How do I remove it? Is it rust? Can I just use wet wipes? If I submerge the metal plate alone I’m water and vinegar then let it dry after would it be okay?
The go to cleaning product for any electronics should always be 99% Isopropyl Alcohol, anything that’s not got electronic parts (so plastic) can be put in water.
