Hi guys, When replacing my screen, I overheated the rubber bezel around the screen (hairdryer). I’m now on the search for a new one but cannot find anywhere one for the A1278. I have however found a 13" for the the macbook air. A long shot but can’t find anything. Failing that. I thought about sanding it down to a smooth finish. Thank you.
These are replaceable on the 15"/17" non-retina models, Retina and Air models, but not the 13" non-retina models. They are merged with the lid with no way of removing them. The only thing you can do is use a razor to cut it away cleanly, and do the same to a donor lid, using double sided adhesive or glue to attach the donor bezel to your unit (glass has to be removed obviously). I haven’t had to do this before, but have heard of people doing this, since it is non-replaceable on your model unfortunately.
