Hi I have Retina Macbook Pro 15inch late 2013 with discrete graphics. When press the power button, macbook won’t boot up, screen is black (with blacklight on and white apple logo turned on) and the chime is on. I can hear the fan and laptop is able to get charged. I’ve tried SMC, NVRAM (that caused that the chime started to sound), target disk mode, recovery mode, single user recovery mode. Nothing happens. I’ve opened the macbook and disconnected the battery and connected back again and the same happens. and not luck. still black screen. Everything happened after I installed Intel Power Gadget software. (I had mojave installed) The mac started to get freeze after every boot, I was able to remove the software, but for some reason still was freeze in every reboot. I’ve rebooted multiple times until I got the black screen. Do you think guys that I need to replace the logic board? I was thinking to clean the fans and put new thermal paste? t I really don’t want to spend a huge amount of money on a new laptop. Cheers Liquid Funk
If you suspect a software issue, boot into Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key on start up.
