Hello all. My whirlpool keeps rinsing with hot water even though I’ve selected cold/tap. I turned off the hot water and found my washer stuck trying to fill with hot water when it reached rinse. Never repaired a washer and google searches are useless for my issue. Where would I start? Update (07/05/2018)
I got curious and opened up the controll panel and found this. It’s been a few years since I’ve worked on the electrical side of things but this doesn’t seem right.
As a temporary workaround, you could get something like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Melnor-2-76-… Get whatever connecting hoses and adapters you need to connect your hot and cold faucets to your hot input on the washer (make sure that they can handle hot water), and put a cap on the cold input on your washer: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Lea… Then set the temperature at the y-adapter by turning one side or both on or off as desired. By using the faucets on the y-adapter, you would minimize wear and tear on your cut off faucets. My guess is that the inlet connection assembly is bad and therefore won’t open the cold side. But there could be some other problem causing this. If you can live with the workaround that I have described above, that could last a long time for you.
