Hi! I followed the replacement battery tutorial on YouTube for my switch, but now the right joycon isn’t paired. Multiple other videos show that I have to look inside the joycon, but I think a wire may have disconnected inside the switch itself? I’ve tried restarting and disconnecting joycons, so anything would help.
Although I’ve rebuilt a Switch, I’m don’t use one personally, so I’d like to clarify your question. I’m reading this as you saying when the joycon is disconnected from the body of the Switch, it won’t connect wirelessly, is that right? If that’s the case, it almost certainly has to be a problem with the joycon itself, as there aren’t separate wireless connections for the left and right controllers. The fact that the left joycon does connect indicates that there isn’t a problem with the wireless connection, so the problem has to be with the right controller itself rather than the body of the Switch. On the other hand, if I’m misreading your post and what you’re saying is that the right joycon doesn’t work when it’s physically connected to the Switch, then it could be the joycon rail connector inside the Switch, or it could conceivably still be an issue with the joycon controller itself. Things to check would be the right rail connector to the motherboard, make sure it didn’t come loose when you were changing out the battery; make sure the cable wasn’t damaged, and check the little plug connector mounted on the rail itself. On the controller, check the connector that plugs into the rail connector; look for misalignment, dust or debris that could keep it from making contact.
