Ribbon At Bottom Of Midframe Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

When changing my battery the small Gold ribbon at the bottom of the Midframe became damaged & detached. Everything seems to work OK still. Do I need to replace the Midframe? What did that part do?! Thanks!
