So I just bought an IPhone 6 off craigslist and attempted to use it only to find that it’s ICloud locked. I feel ripped off seeing as I bought at a pretty high price and the seller was only looking to make a quick buck and didnt tell me that it’s locked. I have attempted to contact him but he is not responding. Anyways, I read that I can get rid of this Icloud lock by replacing the Three bandbass, HDD, and eproom chips. I was wondering how hard it would be to replace these chips and where exactly I can get them. Any information to help me out would be much appreciated, thanks.
Always run the IMEI before you buy- I have had the same issue to be honest. The best site that’s free to check is http://www.imeipro.info/check_imei_iphon… On to your question- -To replace the components you describe will be well more than the phone is even worth. There are a lot of services that will do it, but the low end price is about $70 PER CHIP. -You can get the information for the owner and send him or her an email or text and ask them to remove the phone from their account. It is about $20 to get that info, but the return is variable. I have had about a 25% response rate from people. -If you know how to do micro soldering you can but the chips for cheap, but that requires a lot of equipment as Ben said and it is a skill that you need to perfect, otherwise you kill the board completely.
