I’ve been trying to replace the left joystick on my Xbox One S controller and failing miserably at removing the broken one with the soldering iron. So instead I want to attempt at just replacing the circuit board itself, but before I do I have a few questions. I’m going to use a circuit board from one of the older controller models for the first gen Xbox One, the one without a 3.5mm headphone jack. Will it be compatible with the Xbox One S controller I’m repairing? If it works, will the 3.5mm headphone jack still work even though the circuit board is from an older controller model?
Well there’s some good news, and some bad news. The good news is that it looks as if you can put an original xbox controller board in a new controller body. Although I am not certain. Bad news is that the headphone jack will NOT work, as there is no physical connector to connect to on the older board.
