Hello - I have a cracked rear glass on my A1865 iPhone X. Recently I found a really nice original rear housing that’s complete except for the logic board and SIM tray. Aside from installing the screen, logic board, and SIM tray (and possibly the battery) from my phone are there any other pieces I will need to bring over from my phone for it to work properly in the new housing? Does the taptic engine need to be transferred as well? Thanks in advance for the help! -Chris
Usually not..however there are some firmware incompatibilities between iPhone logic board and taptic engine, but they are pretty rare. Battery doesn’t need to transfer either. You will need the logic board, and the paired ear speaker flex from your original screen with the encrypted flood illuminator piece on it if you want to retain FaceID.
Thanks very much for the help - I appreciate it! I’m thinking I may go ahead and just move the taptic engine from my existing phone into the new housing anyway … on the off chance that there might be a compatibility issue. -Chris
