I have a HP 2000-2d22dx laptop. The screen was broken and now looks plaid with some black spots. I obviously need a replacement screen but I am not very knowledgeable with computers. Where can I find a good replacement screen and does it have to be for the exact model? (It’s definitely not covered under warranty btw.)
carica, get the service manual from here. It will show you how to replace the display. Yes, it will have to be for the exact model and the LCD is widely available, depending on where you are located. The HP-COMPAQ part number is 689690-001. Hope this helps, good luck.
