I recently asked a question regarding MacBook Pro (early ‘15) upper right side water damage. Basically, everything seems to be working except for my WiFi connection. The icon shows “no hardware installed.” Every test I’ve ran shows no issue, and my Bluetooth connectivity still works as well. The water damage indicator strips show that the damage is isolated to the smaller area next to the Airport board. Nothing past that /the fan has changed, so I’m hoping the damage is reserved for just the airport board/wireless card. Would a damaged logic board allow for everything but the WiFi to work? I think I’m capable of replacing the airport board myself (due to quarantine I do not have much of an option lol) but I just want to double check and feel confident in my diagnosis before purchasing a new one.

More often the I/O board cable and/or the connector on the I/O board gets damaged. Did you do a good inspection to make sure they are OK? Did you replace either yet? I prefer replacing the cheaper parts first. But if you are so sure go ahead and replace the AirPort board MacBook Pro Retina (2015) Airport/Bluetooth Board
