I am looking to fix my 13" (late 2013) macbook pro retina LCD display. I have a non functional (motherboard problems) (early 2015) macbook pro retina laptop with a fully functional display. I was wondering if I could replace the 2013 LCD with the 2015 model’s screen, or are there different wirings that prevent me from doing that? Thank you
If the screen assembly have on it the same lvds cables and antenna cables and webcam cables and if you are 100% sure that will be long enough to keep it in place closing and opening the lid , that will work, most of the cases. I already did it on a 2008 with 2010 pro screen, and i need to put much brightness on screen, but it works with higher brightness, because the 2010 have more length on lvds wire and have the same lvds and wifi &webcam connectors. You can also change the Hinges , to fit perfectly on it place. Also if the model is on both A1502 , you will have more chances to work. But you must check it out.
You can replace them but brightness functions will no work properly meaning the 2013 with a 2015 screen will not allow you to adjust brightness. If you want full functionality, you have to get a 2013/2014 display assembly
I have the opposite problem. I have a 100% functioning A1502 Retina MacBook Pro 13” with cracked Screen, and a A1502 Retina MacBook Pro 13” with defect keyboard/waterdamage. Can I use a late 2013 Screen assembly on an early 2015 Machine?
