I have a MacBook Air mid-2012 A1466 model and I was wondering if there a way that you can take the bad GPU and put in a other one like it and just resoldier the new one to replace the bad GPU wondering if that is possible?
Replacing large BGA chips requires proper tools for the task otherwise you’ll either damage the logic board or the chip. Then you have the issue on what will work and available which is very difficult to get as a new part. Frankly, replacing the logic board is just easier!
