Hi, I have an early 2013 MBP 13 Retina, and purchased the replacement new trackpad. I’m going through the repair process and the cable is almost a half inch shorter than the original. I don’t see any way of extending the cable and getting it through the center point. Any ideas? I’m not sure if the original trackpad stopped working because of the cable, so I’m going to try that first, but am bummed that I spent $90 on this when it doesn’t seem like the right part.
I just want to be sure that you are using the proper iFixit guide on how to do this. If you are, you might want to speak to iFixit customer service about this because they can send you another trackpad and hopefully the cable is long enough then.
