I have an HP Envy x360m Convertible laptop. Model # is: 15M-ed1013dx. I ordered and received a new keyboard pad and backlight unit. They DO NOT match the original. The keyboard type is listed on inside bottom cover tag as type 0. How is the old keybord & backlight removed?
Hi, The keyboard is part of the top cover assembly. Looking at the maintenance and service guide for the laptop, taken from this webpage for the laptop series it seems that you have to nearly completely dis-assemble the laptop to remove it. According to this parts list, the part # is L93226-001. This part number corresponds to what is shown on p.19 in the manual for the part number for a Keyboard/top cover with backlight in natural silver finish for use only on computer models with a graphics subsystem with UMA memory (includes backlight cable and keyboard cable ”For use in the United States”. Usually with HP the part numbers are printed somewhere on the part unless the sticker has fallen off. If you search online using the appropriate part number only, you will get results for suppliers, (keyboards are country specific, depending on which country the laptop was originally made for and/or sold in). Hopefully this is of some help.
