The HDD of my wife’s Mac book pro died. Due to the natur of her work we went buying another one which gave me time to dig into the repair. Hence, I created a bootable USB with Lion Mountain on it, ordered a new Toshiba HDD and was able to install this, it seems to work as well when I start the Mac but then … In recovery mode : I see a HDD disk 1 named “Mac OS Base system” greyed out and so, unable to repartion. When booting from my USB stick ; I can acces the mac but everything is very slow and when going to disk utility the HDD isn’t visible at all anymore. I haven’t a clue how I can activate this HDD and prepare it to put a proper OS on. What and how should I do this ?

MacBook Pro 13.3 Model A1278 Toshiba MQ01ABD050 I know he’s not functioning anymore because I went to the local Apple Premium reseller for repair and after his analysis it was clear that the HDD wasn’t working anymore…
