Chosen Solution
I recently replaced my MBP battery with the iFix kit. However, the battery now randomly dies at around 40%. When the I start my laptop back up, usually the clock changes to the wrong time and I have to reset it. I have tried resetting the SMC, but the problem persist. Here are the battery’s specs:

Occasionally batteries can just be defective, might just be part of a bad batch! I would get in touch with iFixit support and arrange a warranty replacement, should solve your problems.
