first off, i work with smt electronics as my day job so the install wasn’t too out of the ordinary. i replaced both the trackpad and the battery with brand new parts following the ifixit guide. everything was working fine for the past 2-3 days except for my battery randomly losing the charge once or twice when i closed the macbook and carried it somewhere (didn’t always happen). was using it this morning and i noticed the battery was stuck at 8%. unplugged the mag power, the computer completely shut off and now i see “condition: replace now” for my battery health. any ideas? my immediate thought is that one of the wires connecting the battery to the logic board is making intermittent contact or is damaged.

That would be my guess. Check the connection and test the battery and see if it has a short, it happens on new batteries every now and then. If the battery checks ok try cleaning the connections. Hope that helps
