After putting gas in it wont start the fuel pump was replaced any ideas need to know what im getting into before i buy it

Oh no ! you ran outta gas and it sat with an empty tank ! OR, its been sitting since Bush was prez. But first,,, did you see the old pump that was removed ? Was it shiny and clean ? Did the rubber parts appear to be nasty, melted, or rotted ? What happens with our modern alcohol-gasoline is that it absorbs water and melts rubber. Both of which is fatal to a old gas tank. Is this a D.I.Y. problem ? You must remove the gas line near the engine and test the fuel pump pressure. Without the proper pressure, the computer is no-go. A shade-tree mechanic would squirt some gas into the air intake to see it would fire. I do not recommend you trying any shortcuts like that. The keyword is fire ! Oops, I jumped pass the ‘before I buy it’. No, not until it can pass your state’s emissions test. You could be looking at a $500+ problem.
