I replaced the back housing of my iPhone 7, after reassembly the phone showed the dead battery indicator on the screen. I plugged the phone in and it began charging. While charging the screen randomly stopped responding to button clicks and it does not respond to inserting the charger. Really stumped here because it was working and now it’s not. Any help appreciated.
Hello there, the most common cause of such a malfunction is human - you have probably broken the signal tape (microscale) of the screen. I am convinced that replacing the screen will solve your problem - the tape cannot be soldered in most cases and the screen for the 7 model is already cheap enough not to worry too much (about $ 14-15?) Battery on the other hand - A poorly closed battery port manifests itself with a discharged battery, problem with charging and cyclic restarts. This is due to the lack of full connection with the battery controller and the SWI (single wire interface) line. Reconnection usually does the trick.
