Hey guys, I work for a small cell phone repair company and massively &&^&@@ up recently. I received a client’s iPhone 7 Plus and replaced the screen on it. Afterwards, any time I pressed the home, mute, or power buttons, the phone would freeze for about 10 seconds, and then do all of the actions that I had told it to do at once. I assumed it was a bad screen, so I tried 4 more screens, each time with the same issue. When I put the original screen on to the phone, the issue persisted. To recap, every time I press the home button, power button, or mute switch, the phone freezes for about 10 seconds. This next part isn’t necessary to the issue but I’m stressing. They went and bought a new phone once they saw that this was an issue and want us to reimburse them. I am now personally liable for this $900 phone, and I’m already pretty poor as it is. What can I do to resolve this issue?
Not something that I have come across but I’d try restoring the handset first. If that fails then find a local logic board specialist and get them to have a look. You might have knocked a component off it somehow. Good luck either way. Phones are great to fix when it goes right, but a nightmare when things like this happen.
