Replaced Screen Home Button Does Not Work But Touchid Does Ipad Mini 3 Lte

Replacing the digitizer and LCD on our iPad Mini 3. Transferred the home button from the original screen to retain TouchID functionality. For some reason though while TouchID works the home button does not. Tried the home button that came with the screen and that one doesn’t work either.. Any tips? Thanks!

You may have damaged the main board connector .
