I received my order of a new rear camera and tools and proceeded to fix my camera while using the Ifixit tutorial. I was successful in replacing the rear camera but when I powered the iphone, the screen was black (both back and rear). I reopened the device again and put in the original camera and it worked. I want to replace my original camera because the outer lens broke and now there is a film on the camera lens which makes it blurry. I’ve since had the lens replaced and hoping to fix the camera. But the replacement camera I received from ifixit does not work. I went through the process several times, making sure that the connections were snug and each time the original camera provided a picture but the “new” camera that was sent was always black. I still would like a camera that works. Can I return it and get a different one? I notice that the camera sent did not have a soft covering over the metal connector. Could that be the issue? Thanks
Hello I’m not sure if you can return the camera but have a read of the ifixit returns and they will say what you have to do. I always buy used genuine apple cameras from eBay. They always work and I buy used ones because I can then have an original apple one and be sure it’s not a fake. Have a look on eBay there are many out there.I think this might solve your problem if you have an original apple one. Hope that helped. Thanks
