I replaced my Nexus 5 battery door/back cover because I upgraded to a Nexus 5X and wanted to get it ready to sell. I bought an OEM replacement on eBay and it matched the phone at both being D821 parts. Oddly though ever since I did that the screen started having issues with occasionally going off, glitching, or just going black even though the backlight is still on and the phone is still working (i.e. the notification light flashes, it vibrates, makes notification tones, etc.). Over time it got worse and the screen wouldn’t come back on after hard rebooting. Literally every time I take the battery door off it has zero issues with the screen when I restart it. I find this extremely odd and I’ve closely inspected the battery door and nothing looks out of place as far as contacts or anything else that could cause some kind of “short” or something like that.
This is strange… The only thing I can think of is the new door is making to much pressure and is disconnecting the screen cable… I would say look at the two doors and MAKE sure they are EXACTLY the same including length of things on the door…
