I replaced the lid lock mechanism on my Amana washer but it still won’t work. It just clicks and the light flashes. I verified that it was the right part. Anyone know why this is happening?
Hi, The lid lock may be operating but perhaps when it is operated it is not signalling the control board that it is locked. Check your wiring of the lid lock and also check that the red wire from the lock switch has continuity back to the control board. Here’s an image taken from the tech sheet for the washer that shows the wiring from the lock switch back to the control board. Also test #8 on p.18 in the tech sheet describes how to get into the diagnostic mode and to test the lid lock.
