I have changed a few ipad mini 2 screens, but this one i have tried x2 digitizers and although home button works fine, the touch screen doesnt work at all. I was working before with the cracked screen. Any ideas?
Hi Thanks for that. It looks like i have x5 copper pins missing (see image) do you think this is the cause and whats my next steps? Thanks ian
Visually inspect where the digitizer plugs into the logic board. look for bent or missing gold pins. You may require magnification to inspect the area.
Are you able to connect the old cracked screen to see if it still works? It’s possible that the connector on the logic board is damaged , they are extremely fragile.
I could not as screen was totally smashed when removed. is there a way to check damage if its the connection on the logic board?
Yup that is definitely it. You will need to find someone capable of board level repairs. The connector will need to be replaced. It is a common issue , those connectors seem to be especially fragile on the mini 2.
