Taken apart my ipod as per instructions, all good except cant get the headphone jack ribbon to connect to lift up plastic tab. There doesn’t seem to be any clamp on it to hold the ribbon in place. I don’t think anything broke off on removal, Old ribbon looks the same as new one. Be grateful for any advice on how to secure the ribbon and ensure good contact. many thanks martin pictures added showing orange tab in up and down position
@mjw01 there has to be a plastic tab that gets flipped up to disconnect and pressed down the reconnect the cable.
Check to see if it is in the down position. If it is not then it is missing. Post some good pictures of the connector with your QUESTION so we can see what you see Adding images to an existing question Update (11/15/2019) @mjw01 okay so just checked one of my boards and looks the same. Tab open

All you would have to do is to insert the ribbon cables between the tab and the connector and close the tab
