I just replaced an iPhone 4 GSM Display assembly (digitizer and LCD) and connected every cable correctly and fully. However, when tested, there are three small dead spots in the digitizer, particularly the letters o, i, and m. What is wrong? and in the repair guide, it says to clean all connctions with a de-greaser but don’t actually get them wet. How do i do that? I’m thinking debris in the connection is the problem. Thanks!!
eric, I did find that most of the non-responsive areas on a digitizer are actually caused by faulty digitizers. It is usually that the “grid” inside the digitizer is malfunctioning. It those cases only a replacement will fix it. Of course, always make sure that you double check your work etc. You can degrease the ends with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol, use anything about 90%, and let it dry for a few minutes. Also clean the connector the same way. Hope this helps….good luck
same problem , checked the digitizer on another iphone and its working , on my iphone i cant even slide to unlock , could be something on logic board ? , connectors are clean , everything is checked . It happend after 2 3 days after screen was replaced and fully working .
